Presbyterian Healthcare Services in Albuquerque, NM invites applications for the Pediatric Student Sonographer Intern, a part-time, 0.50 FTE position designed to provide hands-on echocardiography experience under licensed supervision.

You will assist with patient preparation, image acquisition, and documentation while learning ultrasound workflows, safety protocols, and professional patient care in a real healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• Strong interest in cardiovascular imaging and a commitment to learning in a clinical healthcare environment.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient service skills.
• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all organizational policies and professional standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist cardiac and vascular sonographers with patient preparation, positioning, and education.
• Observe and participate in echocardiographic and vascular ultrasound procedures under supervision.
• Support acquisition of high-quality diagnostic images and assist with measurements and documentation.
• Learn operation, care, and maintenance of ultrasound equipment and keep exam rooms clean and ready.
• Collaborate with healthcare team to support patient care and accurate diagnostic outcomes.
• Adhere to patient privacy, safety, and infection prevention protocols.
• Participate in clinical education opportunities, case reviews, and feedback sessions to strengthen skills.
• Demonstrate professionalism and a patient-centered care approach.
• Maintain a safe, organized work environment and support department operations.
• Perform learning activities to support imaging department objectives.
