Job summary

Presbyterian Healthcare Services in Albuquerque, NM seeks an experienced echocardiographer for its pediatric heart program. You will perform advanced echocardiographic studies, communicate findings to physicians, and mentor fellow sonographers in a team-focused lab.

You’ll collaborate with pediatric, fetal, and adult congenital cardiologists and contribute to quality initiatives, with leadership opportunities and a strong emphasis on patient education and safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 10 years of inpatient and/or outpatient cardiac ultrasound experience.
• RDCS AE and/or PE or RCCS credential.
• NM licensure through NMRTT.
• BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive and complex echocardiographic studies using 2D, 3D, Doppler and color flow imaging.
• Analyze cardiac anatomy and function in real time and communicate abnormal findings to physicians.
• Collaborate with pediatric, fetal, and adult congenital cardiologists for diagnostic evaluation.
• Prepare preliminary reports and ensure EMR workflow completion.
• Provide age-appropriate patient/family education while maintaining comfort.
• Serve as a resource and mentor to sonographers for technique and development.
• Support quality improvement and accreditation activities within the department.
• Potential leadership roles such as Lead Echocardiographer or Technical Director.
• Assist with equipment management and cross-functional collaboration with Biomedical Engineering.
• Support TEE procedures in catheterization lab, OR and elective settings.
