Job summary

Dell Medical School at The University of Texas at Austin and Dell Children's Medical Center of Central Texas seek experienced pediatric cardiac anesthesiologists to join the Texas Center for Pediatric and Congenital Heart Disease. You will oversee care for children with complex heart disease and adults with congenital heart disease.

Primary duties include pre-, intra-, and post-operative anesthesia, development of care protocols, oversight of QA registries, education, and collaborative program

Qualifications

• Medical degree from an accredited medical school.
• Board certification and unrestricted Texas license or eligibility.
• Demonstrated clinical teaching, evaluation, and communication skills.
• Ability to influence/motivate others at all professional and administrative levels.
• Innovative self-starter with commitment to excellence.
• Tenacity, self-motivation and initiative to perform as part of a team.
• Eligible for appointment as assistant professor or higher in the Department of Cardiovascular & Thoracic Surgery.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and provide direct care to patients before, during, and after cardiac surgery.
• Develop and implement care protocols.
• Oversee QI registries for Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesia.
• Oversee education, quality assurance and ongoing performance improvement initiatives.
• Participate in coordinated outreach efforts for the Center.
• Collaborate with medical and adjunct specialties for program development and clinical research.
• Regular participation in educational activities with medical students and residents.
