Job summary

Pediatric Developmental Services (PDS) is hiring a full-time Paraprofessional (Bus Aide). The role involves assisting students with disabilities on and off the bus, ensuring safety and seating, and supporting mobility needs. The position offers a competitive hourly rate and solid benefits.

Qualifications

• Strong communication with students, parents, and school staff.
• Ability to stay patient and adapt to individual needs.
• Willingness to problem solve and support children during transit.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with disabilities in boarding and exiting the bus safely.
• Ensure all students are seated and secured properly during transit.
• Provide mobility assistance, including helping with wheelchairs and mobility aids.
• Monitor student behavior and maintain a safe and orderly environment on the bus.
• Communicate effectively with the bus driver and school staff about issues during transportation.
• Attend to the needs of individual students, including personal care tasks if necessary.
• Follow safety protocols and emergency procedures on the bus.
• Help out with other tasks in the school when needed.
