Job summary

Fairview Health Services is seeking a Registered Nurse for the University of Minnesota Masonic Children’s Hospital Pediatric BMT Unit on a 0.6 FTE schedule. The role involves day/evening shifts and every other weekend, with a nurse residency program for eligible new graduates.

The unit provides care for pediatric hematology/oncology, GI patients and families, with a 24-bed capacity and a 1:2 to 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio. A supportive interdisciplinary team collaborates for high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Current MN RN license is required.
• Basic Life Support (AHA or Red Cross) is required.
• 6 months+ pediatric BMT or Heme/Onc experience preferred or internship/capstone/preceptorship in Pediatric BMT/Heme/Onc.

Responsibilities

• Provide complex care to pediatric patients and families preparing for and undergoing BMT, hematology-oncology, urology, blood and marrow, metabolic and GI disorders.
• Perform advanced monitoring using current technology.
• Manage sophisticated medication and infusion therapies.
• Care for patients undergoing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures and interventions on the unit.
• Demonstrate ability to safely and accurately operate unit equipment.
• Maintain bed capacity of 24 and nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2 to 1:4.
