Job summary

Fairview Health Services, in partnership with the University of Minnesota Masonic Children’s Hospital in Minneapolis, is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Pediatric Med/Surg Float Pool. This 0.6 FTE night-shift role features 12-hour shifts, every third weekend, and a $2/hour float pool differential.

A nurse residency program is available for eligible new graduates. Responsibilities include direct patient care, collaboration with families and care teams, and participation in emergency response

Qualifications

• MN RN license required.
• BLS certification required (AHA or Red Cross).
• 1+ year Pediatric RN experience.
• New grads with pediatrics internship/capstone/preceptorship considered.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient needs and expected nursing outcomes.
• Involve patient, family and health team in data gathering.
• Systematically gather biological, psychological, spiritual and social data from patient and family.
• Prioritize interventions by acuity, resources and patient/family preferences.
• Initiate patient/family teaching as appropriate to age and readiness.
• Collaborate or refer if unable to perform safely.
• Use therapies to support healing, moving from least to more invasive as needed.
• Involve patient/family in evaluating care.
• Communicate with patient, family, and health team to promote partnership care.
