Akron Children's Hospital Behavioral Health Technician I, based in Akron, supports care for children and adolescents aged 5–17 in the inpatient behavioral health unit or emergency department, under the supervision of a registered nurse.

You will collect data, participate in planning and intervention, assist with daily living activities, maintain safety, document in the medical record, and support therapeutic activities and family education as part of the treatment team.

Qualifikationen

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; undergraduate degree in counseling/psychology/social work or nursing preferred.
• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program; relevant coursework encouraged.
• Associate degree is preferred.
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association is required.
• 0–2 years of healthcare experience.

Aufgaben

• Collects data and contributes to assessment, planning, intervening and evaluation of individualized care.
• Provides direct care with RN delegation and assists in physical care as needed.
• Facilitate psychoeducational and therapeutic activity groups; plan educational activities.
• Document in the medical record according to policy.
• Encourage activities of daily living and maintain a safe environment.
• Maintain communication with the treatment team and observe patient symptoms.
• Manage crisis situations using positive approaches.
