Job summary

Seattle Children's seeks Pediatric Mental Health Specialists to support the PBMU team. You will coach patients aged 3-17 through activities and skills groups, promoting healthy problem-solving and coping strategies in a developmentally appropriate way.

In a fast-paced inpatient setting, you’ll assist with complex cases, contribute to a safe therapeutic environment, and work a 0.9 FTE across day/evening shifts including weekends.

Qualifications

• BA or BS in psychosocial related field and/or equivalent education and direct experience.
• Registration as a Nursing Assistant in Washington State within 6 months of employment.
• BLS, Safety Care certification within 3 months of hire and Ukeru training within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• PMHSs are coaches for our patients and lead them through scheduled activities including skills groups.
• Groups promote healthy problem-solving, social and coping skills development for each age group.
• PMHSs work with complex and acute psychiatric patients in a fast-paced environment to promote safety.
• Contribute to a safe and therapeutic setting for patients, families and staff.
