Job summary

UNC Health Youth Behavioral Health (YBH) in Butner, NC is seeking a Clinical Nurse I for a 36-hour workweek on a 12-hour night shift, on-site. The 14-bed inpatient unit provides specialized psychiatric care for adolescents 12–15, focusing on stabilization and building long-term mental health foundations.

The role requires NC RN licensure and a BSN within seven years, with a trauma-informed, interdisciplinary team approach and extensive orientation.

Qualifications

• RN New Graduate and pediatric mental health understanding.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Licensure as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina; Bachelor's degree in Nursing within seven years.

Responsibilities

• Education: identify learning needs and provide patient education materials.
• Evaluation of Care: collaborate with interdisciplinary team to evaluate care and adjust plans.
• Implementation: handle care of complex patients, prioritize, and coordinate with resources.
• Leadership: contribute to unit goals and promote safe, cost-effective care.
• Patient Assessment: synthesize data to plan care and anticipate discharge needs.
• Planning: develop and adjust care plans with patient/family using multidisciplinary resources.
• Research: review journals and bring applicable ideas to the team.
