Job summary

Brown University Health's Rhode Island Hospital in Providence seeks a Behavioral Health Attendant to provide direct, non-clinical support to patients facing mental health and behavioral challenges. Under the supervision of an RN, you will monitor patient conditions, assist with activities of daily living, and engage patients with compassionate interactions while maintaining privacy and rights.

The night shift runs 7p-7a, with a pay range of $21.09–$22.04 per hour.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous direct patient care experience or one year in human services.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct/non-clinical observation and monitor patients per protocol.
• Report changes in patient condition to nursing staff promptly.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living as needed.
• Engage patients compassionately and support recreational activities.
• De-escalate situations using approved verbal techniques to ensure safety.
• Follow safety guidelines and maintain clean, confidential care spaces.
