Job summary

AdventHealth in Shawnee Mission, KS is seeking a team-oriented pediatric therapy assistant. You will collaborate with therapists and educators to support child and family needs, and participate in training volunteers and family members.

A focus on maintaining a clean environment and organizing daily activities is essential. Under supervision, you will provide direct therapy to develop cognitive, language, self-help, social, and motor skills in children, while communicating honestly with the team

Qualifications

• Proficient with basic computer software and Microsoft Office applications.
• Must read, write, and speak conversational English.
• Entry-level knowledge of behavior analytic practice with young children is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with therapists and educators to support individual child and family needs.
• Assist with training students, interns, volunteers, and family members.

Job Description:

Collaborates with physical, occupational, speech-language, and music therapists, as well as early childhood special educators and BCBA. Works with leadership team and social worker on individual child and family needs and accessing community resources. Trains and educates students, interns, volunteers, and patient's family members. Supports staff by maintaining a clean and hygienic environment. Organizes data and individual children's programs daily. Maintains organization in the classroom and other areas. Builds professional relationships with co-workers by being considerate of workloads and assisting with duties. Communicates honestly and addresses issues and problems privately. Respects each discipline's expertise and knowledge without questioning it in front of the patient/family. Provides direct therapy under the supervision of the BCBA to assist children in developing cognitive, language, self-help, social, and motor skills. Punctual with returning phone calls and emails, and for scheduled work hours, meetings, and patient treatment. Utilizes computer access confidentially and appropriately, following HIPAA guidelines, including appropriate use of social media. Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
