Job summary

Children's Hospital & Medical Center - Omaha seeks a licensed pediatric audiologist for a hospital-based role delivering diagnostic, rehabilitative, and consultative services for infants to young adults. You will participate in newborn screening, cochlear implant care, and interdisciplinary care planning.

You will collaborate with ENT, SLP, neurology, and other specialties, while mentoring students and supporting program growth within a dynamic pediatric environment.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Audiology required.
  • Experience with pediatric patients preferred.
  • Ability to work in a hospital setting and collaborate with an interprofessional team.
  • Licensure: Nebraska state license and CCC-A within 1 year preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnostic Evaluation - Conducts age-appropriate hearing assessments for infants through age 21.
  • Newborn Hearing Screening - Supports newborn hearing screening program and reporting to state EHDI.
  • Hearing Aid Management - Fits and verifies pediatric hearing aids using real ear and speech mapping.
  • Assistive Technology - Fits FM/DM systems and other pediatric assistive devices.
  • Cochlear Implant Services - Participates in candidacy evaluations, mapping and follow-up.
  • Inpatient Consultation - Provides bedside assessments for medically complex children.
  • Interdisciplinary Collaboration - Works with ENT, speech language pathology, neurology and others.
  • Family Counseling - Provides education to families regarding diagnosis and treatment.
  • Documentation, Billing & Reporting - Maintains electronic records and reports.
  • Quality & Safety - Follows infection control and hospital standards.
  • Growth & Development - Mentors peers and participates in quality improvement.
  • Program Development - Supports expansion of pediatric audiology services.
  • Resource Stewardship - Inventory management and cost-effective purchasing.
  • Regular attendance at work is essential.
  • Perform physical requirements as described.
