Job summary

Connecticut Children's Medical Center in Farmington, CT is seeking a licensed audiologist to provide pediatric audiologic services from birth to adolescence, including assessment and treatment of auditory and vestibular disorders.

The role focuses on amplification fitting, cochlear implant collaboration, and counseling of patients and families, within a collaborative care team across specialties. A doctoral-level degree in Audiology is required, with pediatric experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher in Audiology required; Au.D. preferred.
• Pediatric audiology experience and amplification dispensing experience required, preferably in a medical setting.

Responsibilities

• Administration and interpretation of behavioral, physioacoustic, and electrophysiologic measures of auditory-vestibular function.
• Select, fit, verify, dispense and validate amplification devices; provides counseling and training.
• Collaborates with cochlear implant team determining audiologic candidacy for cochlear implant.
• Cochlear implant team members provide pre and post-surgical audiological assessment, counseling, and implant programming.
• Provide information and training on auditory-vestibular function to other professionals.
• Work collaboratively with Otolaryngologists, PCPs, developmental pediatricians, speech-language pathologists, other physicians, health care providers, and educational programs.
• Contributes to departmental productivity and maintains documentation per procedures.
• Demonstrates population-specific knowledge from neonate through adolescence and applies to practice.
