Job summary

Children's Rehabilitation Institute TeletonUSA in San Antonio, TX seeks a licensed Physical or Occupational Therapist with AT expertise to design, implement, and oversee assistive technology services for pediatric patients. You will lead assessments, trials, fittings, and ongoing evaluations while coordinating with physicians, families, and the rehab team.

The role emphasizes evidence-based practice, documentation, and collaboration with funding sources to secure necessary equipment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of assistive technology and rehabilitation technology (minimum of 2 years).
• Ergonomics and universal design familiarity (minimum of 2 years).
• Current standards of practice in AT.
• ATP certification or eligibility is preferred but not required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Teamwork in a multidisciplinary setting.

Responsibilities

• Design, fabricate, customize, integrate, modify, and repair AT and DME to meet patient needs.
• Lead the AT service delivery process with assessments, equipment trials, fittings, and evaluation.
• Coordinate clinic services with physicians, vendors, patients, families, and the team.
• Maintain all documentation including LMNs, authorizations, and funding materials.
• Collaborate with case management and funding sources to secure equipment.
• Serve as Co-Chair of the External Needs Committee and liaise with manufacturers and vendors.
• Educate patients and families on AT, seating, mobility, AAC, and safety.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and safe operation of all devices.
