Job summary

Shriners Children's Northern California is seeking a compassionate Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join the Spina Bifida Program in a PRN capacity. You will work with urology, neurosurgery, PM&R, and other specialties to deliver comprehensive care for children with spina bifida and related neuromuscular conditions.

The role covers outpatient clinics and inpatient support, with a flexible schedule focused on Tuesdays 8:00 a.m.

Qualifications

• Master of Physician Assistant Studies or equivalent required.
• Current, unrestricted PA license in the state of practice.
• Certification by NCCPA required.
• MSN or DNP for NP pathway acceptable with board certification in specialty.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive health assessments and physical exams for pediatric patients.
• Formulate differential diagnoses and care plans with supervising physicians.
• Manage care for orthopedic and neuromuscular patients.
• Provide pre-operative and post-operative evaluations in inpatient and ambulatory settings.
• Order and interpret diagnostic imaging, labs, and tests within licensure and protocol.
• Prescribe medications and participate in multidisciplinary clinics and care conferences.
• Maintain licensure and training in compliance with regulations.

Education

Master of Physician Assistant Studies (or equivalent)

Current Physician Assistant license in state of practice

NCCPA certification

MSN or DNP for NP

ANCC/AANP board certification in applicable specialty
