Job summary

The Nemours Foundation is seeking a full-time Anesthesiology Assistant to join our Jacksonville, Florida team. New graduates are welcome, with a supportive environment for pediatric anesthesia training. You will work under an anesthesiologist in a 100% pediatric care setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited Anesthesiology Assistant program.
• Current NBCRNA certification (or predecessor) with biannual recertification.
• AHA BLS, PALS and ACLS required.

Responsibilities

• Perform individualized pre-anesthetic assessment and evaluation, including history, physical, and relevant tests; obtain informed consent for anesthesia.
• Monitor patient status with appropriate intraoperative monitoring modalities; assist with anesthesia administration and management.
• Facilitate emergence and recovery from anesthesia; provide post-anesthesia follow-up care as appropriate.
• Respond to emergencies with airway management and critical care support; participate in quality assurance activities.
• Practice within regulatory guidelines (Joint Commission, ASA statements, and ACHA).
