Job summary

Nemours Children's Health in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a full-time Anesthesiologist Assistant to join our pediatric team. New graduates are welcome; we provide a supportive environment to grow in the pediatric world.

Under the direction of an anesthesiologist, our CAAs administer anesthesia, conduct pre-anesthetic assessments, monitor during procedures, and provide post-anesthesia care in a 100% pediatric setting.

Qualifications

Graduate degree required; Master's preferred in Anesthesiology Assistant program.
Certification: NBCRNA or predecessor with biannual recertification.
Current BLS, PALS and ACLS certifications required.

Responsibilities

Perform individualized pre-anesthetic assessments including history, physical, and diagnostic studies.
Select, obtain, and administer pre-anesthetic medications and fluids; obtain informed consent.
Monitor patient status with appropriate non-invasive and invasive techniques throughout perioperative care.
Facilitate emergence and recovery with medications, fluids, and ventilation support.
Discharge and provide post-anesthesia care as appropriate.
Respond to emergencies with airway management and ACLS-level care.
Collaborate with anesthesiologists to monitor quality of care and participate in QA/PI activities.
Adhere to Joint Commission and AANA guidelines.
