Job summary

Shriners Children’s Northern California seeks a board-eligible Pediatric Anesthesiologist to join our all-physician anesthesia group. You will perform pre-anesthesia evaluations, administer general and regional anesthesia, and manage perioperative care for infants, children, and adolescents at our Sacramento site.

You will collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and allied health professionals, contribute to resident education, and participate in quality initiatives.

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited residency in Anesthesiology.
• Completion of fellowship in Pediatric Anesthesiology.
• ABA board certification or eligibility with pediatric subspecialty.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-anesthesia evaluations and develop pediatric care plans.
• Administer general, regional, or monitored anesthesia care to pediatric patients.
• Monitor vital signs and anesthetic depth throughout perioperative phases.
• Manage pediatric airway techniques, including advanced airway management.
• Respond to intraoperative emergencies and coordinate with the care team.
• Collaborate with surgeons, nurses and other providers to ensure safe care.
• Provide postoperative pain management and postoperative monitoring.
• Document assessments and interventions in the electronic health record.
