The UT Southwestern Medical Center Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Management seeks an outstanding Anesthesiologist for Children (AFC) faculty with a strong interest in pursuing an academic career.
Fellowship Trained Pediatric Anesthesiologist. Responsibilities include direct patient care in pediatric anesthesiology with teaching and supervision of pediatric anesthesiology fellows, anesthesiology residents, and other trainees. Advance specialty training or experience is preferred.
Pediatric Anesthesiologists hold faculty appointments in the Department of Anesthesiology & Pain Management at UT Southwestern Medical Center; however, their primary practice is based at Children's Medical Center in Dallas.
Applicants must have or be able to obtain a Texas medical license prior to employment and be BC/BE with the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA). If the candidate is not Board certified the candidate will be appointed as Assistant Instructor at hire. Continued employment will be contingent upon receipt of ABA certification within two (2) years of initial hire date. Pediatric Anesthesiology subspecialty certification must be obtained within two (2) years of subspecialty training completion.
This position is security-sensitive and subject to Texas Education Code 51.215, which authorizes UT Southwestern to obtain criminal history record information. To the extent this position requires the holder to research, work on, or have access to critical infrastructure as defined in Section 113.001(2) of the Texas Business and Commerce Code, the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the critical infrastructure is a minimum qualification to be hired and to continue to be employed in the position.
Appointment rank will be commensurate with academic accomplishment and experience. Consideration may be given to applicants seeking less than a full-time schedule.
