Job Summary

The Anesthesia Technician provides anesthesia support services throughout the medical center in conjunction with surgical and interventional procedures requiring anesthesia. Will function as a member of the anesthesia and surgical team. Assists in case preparation, induction, extubation, technical and functional support, and case turnover of rooms between procedures.

Pay Range

Minimum $29.48 Midpoint $39.04 Maximum $48.61 Rate of pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, education, as well as position requirements.

Position Details

This is a part time benefitted position that will support the needs within the Special Delivery Unit.

Experience

• Required: Minimum one (1) year of anesthesia experience in a hospital setting.

Education

• Required: High School Diploma/ GED or equivalent.

Training

• Required: Knowledge of sterile techniques to provide sterile hands-on assistance.

Specialized Skills

• Familiar with the functioning and requirements of a surgical suite and the processes and requirements of anesthesia care.
• Demonstrate ability to utilize and maintain a wide variety of health care equipment.
• Demonstrate skill to respond quickly and efficiently in fast paced environment.
• Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English effectively at a level appropriate for the safe and effective performance of the job.
• Knowledge of basic medical terminology.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Licensure

• Required: Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Preferred: Anesthesia Tech Certification.

Work Environments

Functional Demand: Medium - High energy level Lift and carry 40-50 lbs. Push/pull +/- 150-200 lbs. (Patients on bed, stretcher) Lateral transfer 150-200 lbs. (ie. Patient).
