Job summary

Medical University of South Carolina’s MUSC Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital in Charleston, SC seeks a Certified Anesthesiology Assistant to provide perioperative care across pre-, intra-, and post-operative settings. The AA operates under a protocol with anesthesiologists and assists with anesthesia machines, patient transport, and documentation.

Hours are 40 per week with a location stipend. Requirements include AA program certification, SC licensure eligibility, and current BLS/ACLS

Qualifications

• Completion of an AANA-certified Anesthesiologist Assistant program.
• Current SC licensure or eligibility to practice.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide perioperative management of patients requiring anesthesia.
• Perform pre-, intra-, and post-operative evaluations.
• Administer anesthetics under established protocol with attending anesthesiologist.
• Maintain thorough patient records and documentation.
• Participate in teaching activities and continuing education.
