Job summary

The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) seeks a Certified Anesthesiology Assistant to provide perioperative anesthesia management at MUSC Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital in Charleston, SC. The AA works with anesthesiologists under written protocols.

Responsibilities include pre-, intra-, and post-operative evaluation, anesthesia administration, record keeping, and teaching activities. Licensure and BLS required; ACLS preferred.

Qualifications

• Current certification as Anesthesiologist Assistant (AA) and SC licensure or in-process eligibility.
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide perioperative anesthesia management for indicated procedures.
• Perform pre-, intra-, and post-operative evaluation and care under supervision.
• Maintain accurate patient records and participate in teaching activities.
• Demonstrate safety awareness and collaborate with surgeons, residents, and nursing staff.
