Job summary

Connecticut Children’s Medical Center is seeking a Primary Care Registered Nurse for Ambulatory care. The role focuses on delivering family-centered nursing in a busy ambulatory setting, with adherence to policy and documentation standards.

The nurse collaborates with physicians and care teams to optimize patient outcomes. Requires ASN with BSN preferred within three years, CT RN licensure, and current BLS/CPR certification.

Qualifications

• ASN required upon hire; BSN preferred within 3 years of hire.
• Current State of Connecticut Registered Nurse licensure required and maintained thereafter.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR in adult, child & infant is required upon hire and maintained thereafter.
• Specialty licensure/certification may be required, as specified by department.

Responsibilities

• Prioritizes, plans, provides direct family-centered care to patients within area of service throughout the continuum of care utilizing time and resources effectively and efficiently.
• Facilitates the flow of patients within the clinical practice.
• Partners with child and family in evaluating outcomes; monitors, trends and evaluates responses to treatment.
• Provides education to patient/family regarding all aspects of care, including telephone advice, based on established protocols.
