Job summary

Central Oregon Pediatric Associates (COPA) is seeking a Pediatrician to lead acute care within the Patient-Centered Medical Home model at the Northwest Crossing Clinic in Bend, OR. The role emphasizes timely evaluation and management of acute illness in children and coordination with the medical home.

You will work with an interdisciplinary team, perform necessary procedures, and contribute to quality improvement and education for staff and trainees.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a four-year US medical school or equivalent; completed Pediatric or Emergency Medicine residency; board certified or eligible.
• Oregon medical license in good standing; unrestricted DEA in Oregon; ability to participate in Medicaid.
• NRP and PALS certification (COPA can facilitate).

Responsibilities

• Provide timely evaluation and management of acute illness and injury from birth through adolescence.
• Perform pediatric acute care procedures (nebulized meds, suturing, splinting, foreign body removal, I&D).
• Stabilize seriously ill or injured children and coordinate transfer when needed.
• Develop differential diagnoses and evidence-based treatment plans; order/tests and prescribe therapies.
• Collaborate on behavioral health with team; connect acute visits to the medical home for follow-up.
• Lead interdisciplinary care team and educate clinical staff on acute care topics; contribute to guidelines.
• Mentor students, trainees, and new providers; participate in quality improvement and population health initiatives.
