Job summary

Central Oregon Pediatric Associates (COPA) seeks an Acute Care Pediatrician to lead acute pediatric care within our Patient-Centered Medical Home model. The role focuses on timely evaluation and management of acute illnesses and injuries, with skilled procedures and collaboration across an interdisciplinary team.

You will join a clinical leadership structure, contribute to quality improvement and mentorship, and support the COPA mission of right-fit care for kids in a community-focused setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a four-year, accredited US medical school with pediatric or emergency medicine residency.
• Current board certification in pediatrics or emergency medicine.
• Unrestricted license to practice medicine in Oregon by start date.
• Unrestricted Federal DEA registration in Oregon.
• Ability to participate in Medicaid or other government programs.

Responsibilities

• Provide timely evaluation and management of acute illness and injury for children from birth through adolescence, including same-day and after-hours visits.
• Perform pediatric acute care procedures such as nebulized meds, laceration repair, splinting, foreign body removal, and I&D.
• Stabilize seriously ill or injured children and coordinate safe transfers to emergency or inpatient care.
• Develop differential diagnoses and evidence-based treatment plans; order and interpret labs and imaging; prescribe therapies.
• Screen for behavioral, developmental, and mental health concerns in collaboration with the behavioral health team.
• Integrate acute visits back to each child’s medical home with clear follow-up communications.
