Job summary

The Nemours Foundation in Orlando, FL is seeking a Patient Access Specialist I (Full-Time) to provide accurate registration and financial counseling for pediatric patients at Nemours Children's Hospital. You will verify demographics and insurance, explain forms, collect patient responsibility, and maintain HIPAA privacy while supporting clinical partners across departments.

Qualifications

High School Diploma required.
Healthcare experience and customer service experience preferred.
Travel to other locations required.

Responsibilities

Ensures all financial assessments, eligibility, and benefits are accurate.
Registers bedside admissions using the workstation on wheels or downtime process when necessary.
Verifies demographics, insurance information, and PCP/referral details for each encounter.
Explains essential forms for each service type and collects patient responsibility at the time of service.
Resolves patient accounts by clearing workqueues and balancing cash as assigned.
Maintains HIPAA privacy and confidentiality in all duties.
