Job summary

University Health is seeking a Pediatric Critical Care Transport RN to deliver care for critically ill or injured pediatric patients. Responsibilities include transport via fixed-wing aircraft, rotor-wing and ground ambulances, acting as a mobile ICU and mentoring colleagues.

Required RN license in Texas with pediatric critical care experience; BLS, PALS, ACLS, and NRP within 3 months. BSN preferred; trauma program completion within six months of hire.

Job description

Provide critical care and safe transport to critically ill and injured pediatric patients via fixed wing, rotor wing and ground ambulance. Utilize critical thinking skills and established guidelines to function as a mobile intensive care unit. Serve as a clinical role model, resource, and mentor for colleagues.

EDUCAION/EXPERIENCE

Registered nurse with a minimum of two years of recent pediatric critical care experience. Required BLS, PALS, and ACLS (provider or instructor). NRP (provider or instructor) required within 3 months of hire. Completion of a nationally recognized trauma program within six months of hire. BSN preferred.

LICENSURE

Current license from the Board of Nurse Examiners of the State of Texas to practice as a Registered Nurse is required. Professional certification such as CFRN, CTRN, CCRN, CPEN, or C-NPT required within six months of hire.
