Job summary

Buchart Horn is seeking a Civil Engineer – Transportation to join our Marlton team. You will perform advanced engineering calculations and conduct field surveys to develop detailed plans using AutoCAD and MicroStation.

The ideal candidate holds a Civil Engineering degree from an ABET‑accredited program and an active PE license, with strong attention to detail and time management across multiple projects. DOT standards and cost estimation knowledge are a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (ABET‑accredited).
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Working knowledge of state DOT design standards and AASHTO guidelines.
• Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and time management.

Responsibilities

• Perform and review advanced engineering calculations for roadway and transportation projects.
• Conduct field surveys, site investigations, and substantial completion audits.
• Develop scalable and detailed plans, profiles, and design drawings using AutoCAD, MicroStation, and civil engineering design tools.
• Assist in proposal and work plan development, as well as project coordination, budgeting, and scheduling.
• Respond to RFIs, review submittals, edit specifications, and contribute to accurate cost estimates.
• Participate in QA/QC reviews and ensure quality standards throughout all project phases.
• Attend client and internal team meetings to define project goals and support construction‑phase services.
• Stay up to date with the latest DOT regulations, design standards, and best practices in transportation engineering.
