Job summary

Bass Pro Shops designs and manufactures recreational watercraft and related equipment. This role guides the design of aluminum and fiberglass watercraft to meet performance goals and comply with safety and regulatory standards such as ISO, DNV, GL, ABS, ABYC, CE and USCG.

You will collaborate with WRMG New Product Development Brand Managers, engineers, and compliance staff on scantling, weight, hydrostatics, CFD/FEA-driven optimization, and verification testing to ensure robust products and

Qualifications

• B.S. or higher in Naval Architecture with PE license.
• 5+ years as a practicing Naval Architect in recreational marine.
• Experience with hydrostatic analysis software (Rhino/Orca3D preferred).
• Experience with CAD and FEA of marine structures (CATIA/SIMULIA preferred).
• Experience with marine composite manufacturing processes.
• Strong analytical capabilities and attention to detail; excellent written and communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and statistics software.

Responsibilities

• Guide design of recreational watercraft to meet performance goals and safety/regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with Brand Managers, Designers, Engineers, and Compliance staff on scantling and performance.
• Provide expertise in weight analysis, hydrostatics, hull form, waterline, speed, propulsion, and stability.
• Contribute to simulation-driven design using FEA, CFD, and FSI.
• Support dealerships and customers; assist verification and validation testing.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
