Job summary

Bass Pro Shops seeks an experienced Naval Architect to guide recreational watercraft design, ensuring performance and safety standards are met. You will work with cross-functional teams including product development managers, designers, engineers, and compliance staff to optimize hulls, weight, hydrostatics, and propulsion systems.

The role requires a PE license in Naval Architecture, 5+ years of marine design experience, and proficiency with Rhino/Orca3D, CATIA/SIMULIA, CFD, and composite

Qualifications

• BS or higher in Naval Architecture with PE license in Naval Architecture.
• 5+ years as a practicing Naval Architect in recreational marine industry.
• Experience with hydrostatic analysis software (Rhino/Orca3D preferred).
• Experience with CAD/FEA of marine structures (CATIA/SIMULIA preferred).
• Experience with CFD analysis of high-speed planing watercraft.
• Familiarity with marine composite manufacturing processes.
• Strong analytical and communication skills; proficient in MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Guide design of recreational watercraft to meet performance goals and standards.
• Collaborate with NPD Brand Managers, Designers, Engineers, and Compliance.
• Develop scantling, weight, hydrostatics, speed, and stability analyses.
• Support simulation-driven design optimization (FEA/CFD/FSI).
• Plan verification and validation testing in WRMG Lab and with external entities.
• Provide professional support for dealerships and customers.
