Job summary

Accrescent Group in Mount Holly, NJ seeks a Mechanical Plumbing Engineer to join its MEP team. You will design, develop, analyze, and coordinate plumbing systems for commercial, industrial, healthcare, and institutional projects.

You will perform hydraulic calculations, ensure code compliance (IPC, NSPC, IFGC, ASPE, NFPA), prepare drawings and specifications, and collaborate with architects, HVAC, electrical, and structures groups.

Qualifications

• Professional Engineer license required
• 3-5 years of relevant experience
• Strong knowledge of civil & plumbing engineering principles and practices
• Experience in project management and engineering
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Responsibilities

• Design and develop plumbing systems (domestic water, sanitary, stormwater, natural gas, and specialty piping systems)
• Perform system and hydraulic calculations including pipe sizing, pressure loss, flow rates, equipment selection, and layout design in accordance with local codes and standards (IPC, NSPC, IFGC, ASPE, NFPA)
• Ensure compliance with local plumbing codes, national standards, and green building requirements (LEED, WELL)
• Participate in project meetings and communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders
• Prepare detailed construction documents (drawings, specifications, and schedules)
• Coordinate and collaborate with architectural, mechanical HVAC, electrical, and structural teams for seamless project coordination
• Assist in preparing technical reports, proposals, and engineering studies
• Assist with construction cost estimating and scheduling
• Conduct site visits, inspections, and assessments to verify compliance with design intent and code requirements
• Review shop drawings, submittals, and RFIs during construction administration phase
• Provide mentorship to Junior Engineers and Designers
