Job Overview:

The X-ray Technologist will perform radiology procedures in the OR, ED, Endoscopy, and the Main Radiology Department.

Qualifications:

Required:

• Graduated from an accredited radiology program

Preferred:

• 1 year of relevant work experience

Certifications and Licenses Required:

• Registered through The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in radiography
• Hold a NJ state license as a Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist

Scheduling Requirements:

• Shift working, days and/or evenings, including weekends

Type: Per Diem

Essential Functions:

• Operate radiology equipment, perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot malfunctions, maintain inventory, and evaluate new equipment and techniques
• Manage radiology supplies inventory, check stock, anticipate needs, and place orders
• Ensure compliance with legal and professional standards, study legislation, and advise management
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment
• Gain patient cooperation, reduce anxieties, explain procedures, and answer questions
• Prepare patients for radiological procedures, position patients, adjust immobilization devices, and set exposure factors
• Minimize radiation exposure to patients and staff using protection techniques and devices
• Follow infection-control policies, administer first aid, and follow drug protocols as needed
• Maintain quality of radiographs, develop images, observe results, and make adjustments
• Document patient care services accurately
• Contribute to team efforts as needed
