Job Overview:

Processes, performs, and reports medical diagnostic testing on body fluids by automated and manual methods in a timely manner under the supervision of senior technologists.

Qualifications:

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution or military service equivalent
• MLT certification from ASCP within 8 months of employment or equivalent

Preferred:

• One-year working experience

Scheduling Requirements:

• Per Diem
• Night Shift

Essential Functions:

• Assists in training new employees and students
• Works on special projects as requested by the Director
• Segregates laboratory wastes according to established policies
• Verifies orders from scripts and procedures in HIS and LIS
• Maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs instruments and lab equipment if possible
• Maintains all necessary QC, QA, and repair records required by accreditation agencies
• Produces medical diagnostic test results efficiently and cost-effectively for stat and routine specimens
• Assess data reflective of each patient's status and provide appropriate care based on age groups: infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric
• Assists in clerical duties as needed
