Job summary

TotalMed is seeking a travel RN for the PCU - Progressive Care Unit in Lima, Ohio. This 13-week assignment requires a 36-hour week, with nights on a 12-hour shift pattern.

A 1–2 year background in acute care is preferred, along with ACLS/BLS/NIH certifications here or expected upon starting. As a PCU nurse, you will monitor cardiac and other vitals, perform bedside care, start IVs, administer medications, and document findings.

Qualifications

• ACLS, BLS, NIH, 2 Years
• * Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic bedside care; stabilize critical cardiac patients.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment.
• Monitor and adjust specialized equipment used on patients, and interpret and record electronic displays.
• Initiate corrective action whenever information from monitoring equipment shows adverse symptomatology.
