First Choice Nurses is hiring experienced PCU Registered Nurses for per diem hospital shifts across Hampton Roads, Virginia. Choose shifts that fit your life with 7a-7p and 7p-7a options, offering competitive per diem pay and the freedom to work when it works for you.

Requirements include a Virginia RN license, 2 years PCU experience in the last 4 years, and current AHA BLS/ACLS. Additional credentials may be required; COVID vaccination or exemption is allowed.

Qualifications

• Active Virginia RN license.
• Minimum 2 years of recent PCU nursing experience within the past 4 years.
• Current AHA BLS.
• Current AHA ACLS.
• QuantiFERON-TB Gold test within the past 12 months.
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption.

Responsibilities

• Assessing, monitoring, and documenting patient conditions.
• Monitoring cardiac rhythms and changes in patient status.
• Administering medications, IV therapies, and ordered treatments.
• Collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams.
• Maintaining accurate and timely electronic medical records.
• Following facility infection-control and patient-safety standards.
• Educating patients and families regarding care and discharge plans.
• Adapting professionally to different hospital units and environments.
