Job summary
Origin Travel Nurses is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) on a 13-week contract. The role involves caring for acute post-operative patients and telemetry monitoring, with responsibilities including titratable and non-titratable drips and coordinating with the care team.
Shifts available are 3x12-hour blocks, night and day, with every-other weekend required. Candidates must have at least 2 years in PCU/Stepdown, an active PA or compact nursing license, ACLS/BLS/NIHSS
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Progressive Care Unit or Stepdown setting.
- Current PA or compact nursing license.
- Certification in ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS.
- Charge experience is preferred.
- Experience with Cerner charting system is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Administer and manage medications, including blood products and IV drips.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and respond to telemetry alerts.
- Implement care plans and provide education to patients and families.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Perform essential procedures including accessing/managing ports and tracheostomy care.
