Job summary

First Choice Nurses of Eastern VA is seeking experienced PCU Registered Nurses for per diem hospital shifts across Hampton Roads, Virginia. Opportunities include 7a-7p and 7p-7a shifts, with the freedom to pick up the time that fits your life and the option to build a fuller schedule.

You will provide high-quality acute-care patient care, monitor cardiac rhythms, administer medications, document in EMR, and collaborate with physicians and care teams.

Qualifications

• Active Virginia RN license required.
• Minimum 2 years of recent PCU nursing experience.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• QuantiFERON-TB Gold test within past year.
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemption.

Responsibilities

• Assessing, monitoring, and documenting patient conditions.
• Monitoring cardiac rhythms and changes in patient status.
• Administering medications, IV therapies, and ordered treatments.
• Collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams.
• Maintaining accurate and timely electronic medical records.
• Following facility infection-control and patient-safety standards.
• Educating patients and families regarding care and discharge plans.
• Adapting professionally to different hospital units and environments.
