Job summary

First Choice Nurses is seeking experienced PCU Registered Nurses for per diem hospital shifts across Virginia. Shifts run 7a-7p and 7p-7a, offering the freedom to pick up gaps in your schedule and build a fuller or lighter workload as you choose.

We offer competitive per diem pay and flexible scheduling with daily or weekly pay options. You’ll join a locally owned staffing team with 15+ years in the community and hospital-based opportunities.

Qualifications

• Active Virginia RN license; required for PCU assignments.
• Minimum 2 years of recent PCU nursing experience within the last 4 years.
• Current AHA BLS certification.
• Current AHA ACLS certification.
• QuantiFERON-TB Gold test within past 12 months.
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption.

Responsibilities

• Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions in acute-care hospital settings.
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and patient status changes.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and ordered treatments.
• Collaborate with physicians and interprofessional care teams.
• Maintain accurate electronic medical records and documentation.
• Follow infection-control and patient-safety standards.
• Educate patients and families about care plans and discharge.
• Adapt to different hospital units as needed.
