Job summary

First Choice Nurses of Eastern VA is seeking an experienced PCU Registered Nurse for per diem hospital opportunities in the Hampton Roads area. You can choose shifts, with day or night coverage, and enjoy options for daily or weekly pay and flexible scheduling.

Requirements include an active Virginia RN license, 2+ years PCU experience within 4 years, BLS and ACLS, plus TB testing and vaccination as applicable. Per diem roles offer control over your calendar across multiple acute care settings.

Qualifications

• Virginia RN license is required.
• Minimum 2 years PCU nursing experience within the past 4 years.
• Current BLS (AHA) certification.
• Current ACLS (AHA) certification.
• Current QuantiFERON-TB Gold test within the past 12 months.
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemption.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care in an acute care hospital setting
• Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions and responses to treatment
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments according to physician orders
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and equipment for PCU patients
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams
• Maintain accurate electronic medical records
• Follow hospital infection-control and patient-safety guidelines
• Provide patient and family education
• Adapt professionally to different hospital environments and unit needs
