Job summary

First Choice Nurses of Eastern VA is seeking experienced PCU registered nurses for per diem hospital shifts across the Hampton Roads area in Virginia. You can pick up shifts that fit your life and enjoy flexible scheduling, with options for daily and weekly pay and responsive local staffing support.

Shifts include 7a-7p and 7p-7a. Ideal candidates hold an active Virginia RN license, PCU experience, and current BLS/ACLS.

Qualifications

• Active Virginia RN license is required.
• Minimum 2 years of recent PCU nursing in the past 4 years.
• AHA BLS certification must be current.
• AHA ACLS certification must be current.
• QuantiFERON-TB Gold test within 12 months.
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemption.

Responsibilities

• Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions in acute-care hospitals.
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and changes in patient status.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments.
• Collaborate with physicians and care teams.
• Maintain accurate electronic medical records.
• Follow infection-control and patient-safety standards.
• Educate patients and families on care and discharge plans.
• Adapt to different hospital units and environments.
