Job summary

First Choice Nurses is hiring PCU Registered Nurses for per diem hospital shifts throughout Hampton Roads, Virginia. Shifts are 7a-7p and 7p-7a, offering the freedom to pick the schedule that fits your life.

As a PCU RN, you will provide high-quality patient care in acute-care hospital settings, with opportunities to work as little as one shift per month and daily/weekly pay options. Per diem eligibility requires an active Virginia RN license and current BLS/ACLS.

Qualifications

• Active Virginia RN license required.
• 2 years of recent PCU nursing experience within the past 4 years.
• Current BLS & ACLS
• QuantiFERON-TB Gold test within the past 12 months.
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption.

Responsibilities

• Assessing, monitoring, and documenting patient conditions.
• Monitoring cardiac rhythms and changes in patient status.
• Administering medications, IV therapies, and ordered treatments.
• Collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams.
• Maintaining accurate and timely electronic medical records.
• Following infection-control and patient-safety standards.
• Educating patients and families regarding care and discharge plans.
• Adapting professionally to different hospital units and environments.
