The role includes pre-operative and post-operative care coordination, with emphasis on timely documentation, medication administration, and monitoring in a cardiac and medical-surgical setting. Nursing education and licensure are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing required or enrollment with plan to obtain BSN within 5 years.
• MSN preferred.
• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina. eNLC may apply.
• BLS Healthcare Provider certification.
• One year nursing experience required.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition during admission and each shift, report changes.
• Perform procedures or functions as ordered by the medical provider.
• Document the administration of care in the patient medical record promptly.
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor responses.
• Maintain knowledge of medications and equipment for cardiac and medical-surgical patients.
