Job summary

Orlando Health is seeking an RN Nurse Resident for the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) at Dr. P. Phillips Hospital. The role supports transitioning patients between ICU and standard care with telemetry and close monitoring.

Licensed RNs or NCLEX candidates will provide bedside care during nights, with preceptorship and opportunities to develop advanced nursing skills in a 48-bed PCU setting.

Qualifications

• Nursing school graduate.
• Meets all mandatory, developmental, and performance competency requirements for Orlando Health and the unit/department.

Responsibilities

• Administers bedside patient care under supervision.
• Assesses patients’ needs and revises care plans accordingly.
• Acts as advocate for patients and families.
• Provides care appropriate to unit patient age group.
• Preceptor/charge nurse duties and unit education responsibilities.
• Collaborates with medical staff and interdisciplinary team to plan/manage care.
• Coordinates patient care and delegates tasks to team members.
• Documents care per standards, including assessment, education, meds, and treatments.
• Prioritizes care based on Evidence-Based Practice Standards.
