Job summary

AdventHealth Maitland in Florida is seeking a registered nurse for the PCU/ICU patient population. You will perform assessments, develop care plans, monitor labs and patient responses, and ensure safety and infection prevention.

Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care, communicate effectively with patients and families, and uphold medication safety. Requires RN license, BLS/ACLS/PALS, and 2 years ICU/PCU experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Two years of current PCU or ICU RN experience preferred.
• Active RN license in Florida.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop plans of care.
• Prioritize care and coordinate with interdisciplinary team.
• Monitor diagnostic data, labs, and responses to treatment.
• Ensure medication safety and adherence to infection prevention.
• Communicate clearly during hand-offs and with patients and families.

Job Description:

Supports quality standards and initiatives set by the department, exhibiting a desire to learn, teach, mentor, and advance nursing skills. Completes timely assessments including physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual, and lifestyle factors, including signs of abuse or neglect. Makes appropriate decisions and implements interventions based on nursing diagnoses according to patients' actual or potential health conditions or needs. Sets measurable and achievable short and long-range goals for patients, developing and implementing individualized plans of care. Prioritizes and completes follow-up assessments, evaluating and modifying plans of care as needed. Assesses and interprets diagnostic data relative to patient age and condition, including lab results, non-invasive monitoring data, and interdisciplinary team notes. Applies knowledge and skills pertaining to all diagnoses, procedures, medications, complications, and equipment associated with unit patient population. Adheres to all pertinent regulatory standards, follows strict infection prevention precautions, and ensures medication safety. Promotes an exceptional patient experience through effective communication with patients, families, and visitors, including hourly rounding. Utilizes appropriate techniques, verbiage, and resources in all interactions with patients according to their level of understanding. Communicates effectively with the interdisciplinary team, completing thorough hand-off communication in all situations. Abides by American Nurses Association Scope, Standards, and Code of Ethics, participating in practice changes, process improvement initiatives, and completing all required education.
