AdventHealth in Riverview, FL is seeking a Registered Nurse for full-time Day shift. The role focuses on safe patient care, accurate documentation, and effective communication across care teams. You will participate in hourly rounding and support discharge planning while upholding Caring Model values.

Requirements include an Associate Degree in Nursing, RN licensure in Florida, BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS as indicated. 1+ year of recent nursing experience preferred.

Qualifications

• RN with current licensure in Florida and basic CPR/BLS knowledge.
• Experience with EPIC electronic medical records preferred.
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification preferred or required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safe practice and clinical competency per unit standards.
• Ensure clear handoff communications and documentation.
• Contribute to peer interviewing and peer review processes.

Job Description:

• Maintains safe practice by demonstrating unit-specific clinical competency and compliance with all regulatory standards.
• Ensures safe and effective handoff communications and documentation between caregivers.
• Participates in peer interviewing and peer review processes.
• Communicates courteously with internal and external customers in person or on the telephone.
• Demonstrates respect for co-workers and develops positive working relationships with other departments.
• Participates in hourly rounding using the AIDET technique to improve patient outcomes.
• Incorporates Caring Model behaviors and culturally competent care into daily practice.
• Adheres to organizational standards for dress and professional appearance. Collaborates and demonstrates teamwork in managing patient flow, promoting timely patient placement by following hospital policy for admission, discharge, and transfer.
• Considers factors related to safety, effectiveness, cost, and impact on practice in the delivery of nursing services.
• Collects comprehensive data pertinent to the patient’s health and unit-specific data for process improvement initiatives.
• Conducts initial patient assessments within expected timeframes, initiate consults as indicated, and identify patient/family teaching and discharge planning needs.
