San Antonio Endoscopy Center – Full‑Time Patient Care Technician / Scope Washer

We have 1 OR room and 3 treatment rooms and perform outpatient GI surgical procedures. This position requires weekdays only—no holidays, weekends, or call. Some early mornings and later evenings may be required; schedule is subject to change based on surgical flow.

PCT / Scope Washer – Job Overview

Responsible for rendering professional care to patients undergoing GI and pain‑management procedures. Works cooperatively with physicians and staff, prepares equipment, anticipates physician and patient needs, maintains clinical area and equipment, oversees GI procedures, documents intra‑procedure notes, and assists physician on all GI procedures. PCT duties constitute 60 % of the time and scope washing 40 %.

Qualifications

• High‑school graduate or equivalent
• Medical Assistant, Certified Nurse Assistant, or Patient Care Technician clinical training
• GI experience required
• Certification in Operating Room Technology a plus
• Current BLS required; ACLS preferred
• Knowledge of policies and procedures specific to the OR and GI
• Manual dexterity for quick instrument handling
• Conscientious, organized, able to handle stress in a busy OR & GI lab environment
• Ability to lift 25 poundsGood verbal and written English communication
