Job summary

UAB Medicine in Birmingham, AL seeks a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to support perioperative services in a large, state-of-the-art surgical department. You will assist with vital signs, patient measurements and documentation, under RN/LPN direction, and complete in-house training.

A focus on safety and teamwork is essential in this fast-paced setting. The role requires at least a high school diploma or GED, with 2+ years of experience preferred and CPR within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

Job Description

To assume responsibility for certain technical aspects of patient care as directed by the RN/LPN for the hospital. To obtain and record vitals, weight, inputs and outputs. To successfully complete an in-house PCT training program. To demonstrate an awareness of patient and personal safety.

Qualifications

2+ years of experience preferred.

High School diploma or GED required. Certified with Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) within thirty (30) days of date of employment required.
