Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the Observation Unit at Elmhurst Main Hospital Campus in Elmhurst, IL. The role is full-time, 36 hours per week, with night hours from 7:00pm to 7:30am and a rotating weekend/holiday track.

The incumbent will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, performing patient care tasks to ensure safety, comfort, and quality care for patients. CPR certification is required, plus nursing assistant training or equivalent experience.

Qualifications

• The candidate must have current CPR certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• Successful completion of an accredited nursing assistant training or equivalent.
• Minimum six months of patient care experience or completion of one nursing clinical rotation.
• Completion of the care Companion Course within six months if required by the department.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient care tasks and procedures under the direction of a Registered Nurse to ensure patient safety and comfort.
• Assist with routine care and activities of daily living as directed by nursing staff.

Hourly Pay Range: $18.84 - $27.32 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

• Hours : 7:00pm-7:30am with every 3rd weekend and holiday track

What you will do

The Patient Care Tech, under the directions of a Registered Nurse (RN) and, according to established procedures, performs patient care tasks and patient care procedures necessary to provide for the care, comfort and safety of patients.

What you will need

• Education: N/A
• Certification: Current CPR Certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Experience: Successful completion of an accredited nursing assistant training course or minimum six months of previous patient care experience or equivalent or completion of one nursing clinical rotation
• Successful completion of care Companion Course within six months of hire when course is required by the department.
• Unique or Preferred Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills including teamwork, ability to prioritize, ability to receive and follow through on directions.
