Job summary

Endeavor Health’s Elmhurst location is seeking a Patient Care Technician - Observation Unit for part-time coverage. You will work 7:00am-7:30pm, 24 hours per week, with every 3rd weekend and holiday track.

The role requires CPR certification and nursing assistant training or 6 months patient care experience. You’ll support RNs, assist with routine patient care, and maintain safety and comfort for patients.

Qualifications

• Current CPR Certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• Six months of previous patient care experience or equivalent, or completion of one nursing clinical rotation.
• Successful completion of an accredited nursing assistant training course.
• Care Companion Course within six months of hire when course is required by the department.
• Excellent interpersonal skills including teamwork, prioritization, and the ability to follow directions.

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN), performs patient care tasks and procedures to provide care, comfort and safety for patients.
• Assist with basic observations and patient assistance per established procedures.

• Part-Time: 24/hr per week
• Hours: 7:00am-7:30pm with every 3rd weekend and holiday track

What You Will Do

The Patient Care Tech, under the directions of a Registered Nurse (RN) and, according to established procedures, performs patient care tasks and patient care procedures necessary to provide for the care, comfort and safety of patients.

What You Will Need

• Education: N/A
• Certification: Current CPR Certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Experience: Successful completion of an accredited nursing assistant training course or minimum six months of previous patient care experience or equivalent or completion of one nursing clinical rotation
• Successful completion of care Companion Course within six months of hire when course is required by the department.
