Job summary

AdventHealth is seeking a Full-Time Patient Care Technician for Day shifts in Shawnee Mission, KS. You will assist in patient care under a nurse’s supervision, take vital signs, document in the EMR, and maintain a safe, clean patient environment.

Strong communication with patients and team is essential. Required education is a High School Diploma or equivalent; CPR/Basic Life Support is required, with preferred CNA or CPCT/A certifications.

Qualifications

• Basic clinical tasks under supervision.

• Adherence to department policies and safety guidelines.

Job Description: Full-Time Days

• Assists in the delivery of patient care by performing tasks under the direction of a licensed nurse.
• Accurately performs vital signs and documents in the electronic medical record.
• Documents and reports all procedures accurately and in accordance with department policy.
• Perform duties and patient care according to policy and procedure.
• Functions appropriately within scope in clinical emergencies.
• Participate in practice changes resulting from performance improvement activities and supports quality standards and initiatives.
• Follows CDC isolation guidelines, demonstrates appropriate use of PPE, performs hand hygiene according to policy, and enforces safety regulations.
• Exhibits a desire to learn and upgrade skills continuously.
• Communicates effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• Maintains a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.
• May perform point of care testing based on competency and hospital policy.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education: High School Grad or Equiv [Required]

Work Experience: 1+ applicable PCT experience [Preferred]

Licenses and Certifications:

• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
• Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) [Preferred]
• NHA Certified Patient Care Technician/Assistant (CPCT/A) [Preferred]
• OR NCCT Patient Care Technician (NCPCT) [Preferred]
• OR AMCA Patient Care Technician Certification (PCT-C) [Preferred]
• Emergency Medical Tech Cert (EMT) [Preferred]

Pay Range: $16.42 - $26.28
